About the Trent Lott Leadership Institute

Where Exceptional Students Become Transformational Leaders.

A Premier Leadership Institute

The Trent Lott Leadership Institute facilitates programming for high-achieving high school and undergraduate students who are ready to lead with purpose, influence, and impact.

Our programs are designed to inspire young leaders and create pathways for students to develop confidence, purpose, and leadership skills that will serve them throughout their lives.

Cultivating Leaders for Life

The Lott Leadership Institute offers a wide range of leadership and outreach programs for both high school and undergraduate students. It extends leadership education through the university-wide Leadership Endorsement, available to all undergraduate majors, and by collaborating with the Department of Public Policy Leadership at 番茄社区, offering the Public Policy Leadership major.

Institute Namesake

Named for a prominent University of Missisippi alumnus and politician, the Trent Lott Leadership Institute’s mission is strictly focused on education and leadership development. Partisan politics do not play a part in the Institute’s programs or policies. The Institute is not involved in advocacy for any ideology or position and will not be used as a platform or venue by the Institute or its affiliates for anything inconsistent with its mission.

Our Students Lead the Way!

Our students are deeply involved in the life of the University and Oxford community. Our students consistently demonstrate leadership that extends beyond the classroom.

The Lott Student Advisory Board members work with Institute staff to assist in recruiting efforts, facilitating peer mentoring for incoming students, and coordinating social events and professional development opportunities.

The Lott Peer Mentor Program supports first-year students in their transition to the University. We create intentional pairings and facilitate peer group meetings to help students transition into the Lott Institute's community of leaders.
